Torbados: A New Internet Sensation

May 1, 2010

torbayEnter any major town or city during the night you are bound to be greeted with mountains of police, unsociable behaviour which has turned a Torquay diva into a Internet Sensation.

Lindsey Collard, a 22 year old from Torquay has released her own version of Alicia Keys hit “Empire State of Mind”, but with the lyrics most closer to home and closer to the reality of a buzzing nightlife town.

Lindsay is seen in the video playing the piano surrounded by various Torquay scenes, which at the same time she sings with great passion.

Torbados has now become a internet sensation which has already attracted nearly 70,000 youtube hits in just three weeks which at the same time is receiving a mixture of comments and causing a huge debate whether this video is a true representation of a major tourist town like Torquay.

Lindsey quoted “Everyone is talking about it, and we have had a lot of reactions to it. Some people have taken it with a pinch of salt and others have got angry”

Torbados is a true representation that parody the late night booze culture,  along with the hen parties, stag nights and mountains of tourists who flood the Torbay nightlife.
