One Direction look set to score their first number one single this Sunday.
The X Factor stars released their debut single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ just two days ago and already it has stormed it’s way to the top of the iTunes download chart.
Despite a rather dodgy live performance by the boys on Saturday’s Red Or Black series finale, the song has still been selling in it’s thousands and industry insiders think it is a shoe in for this week’s number one spot.
Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Harry Style and Zain Malik have certainly worked hard to promote the track. They’ve spent the last month touring the UK, meeting and greeting thousands of fans and on Sunday alone, they took on a HMV tour and visited stores in Glasgow, London and Manchester, where they signed copies of the record and spent time with their admirers.
‘What Makes You Beautiful’ also broke a number of presales records it has been reported, as thousands of fans pre-ordered the track in advance of it’s release.
The song achieved the highest ever amount of pre-orders for a Sony Music label act in the company’s history.
The boys have also reportedly been guaranteed a live spot on this year’s X factor series, where they will perform the second single from their as yet untitled debut album.
