Jedward slapped with a £6,000 Tax Duty Bill

January 20, 2011

Jedward have reportedly been slapped with a £6,000 tax duty bill after they made an impulse buy of £15,000 worth of Michael Jackson memorabilia.

Among the haul is a set of old bed sheets signed by Jackson and his pal Macaulay Culkin, and a rubber Michael Jackson doll.

The pair made the bizarre purchases in an online auction last year, but the goods have been impounded at Heathrow until their bill is paid.

“The stuff was shipped into the country on Monday and the twins can’t wait to check them out,” said a source. “But the customs people aren’t letting them even catch a glimpse until they pay up £6k in duty.

“John and Edward are gutted – it’s the most money they’ve ever spent.”
