Kasabian Head to head with Artic Monkeys

artic_monkeysArctic Monkeys and Kasabian are to go head-to-head at the 2010 NME Awards, it has been announced.

The pair of rock heavyweights lead the field at next month’s event, after claiming six nominations apiece.

They will compete with Biffy Clyro, Muse and Oasis, who split-up last August, for the big prize of Best British Band.

Meanwhile, Alex Turner and co will compete with Green Day, Lady GaGa, The Jonas Brothers, U2 and Arctic Monkeys for Worst Album.

The NME Awards take place at the O2 Academy Brixton on February 24.
