Lady Gaga heading for No 1

January 1, 2010

lady_gaga_acLady GaGa looks set to steal top spot in the UK single charts away from “X Factor” winner Joe McElderry this weekend.

McElderry has only been number one for a week, after being denied the position at Christmas by Rage Against The Machine.

But already one of pop’s most flamboyant stars looks likely to replace him to have the first number one single of the new decade, as GaGa’s “Bad Romance” continues to outsell McElderry’s cover of Miley Cyrus smash “The Climb”.

Midweek counts also suggest Lady GaGa’s deluxe reissue of “The Fame” will top the album charts on Sunday.

McElderry will no doubt draw some consolation from the fact his single has already sold more than 700,000 copies.
