Mel B secretly lined up as new X Factor Judge

SIMON COWELL has secretly lined up Mel B to replace Dannii Minogue as a judge on The X Factor.

The music mogul has held hush-hush talks with the former Spice Girl – though ex-Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland is also in the frame.

An X Factor insider said: “It’s all change next year.”

It is understood that Dannii, 38, who wants to start a family with boyfriend Kris Smith, is considering a move back to Australia.

She has yet to announce plans to quit but it’s thought she has already told Cowell, 50, she may not return.

He is now looking for a replacement and has hand-picked Mel, 34, whose history in one of the world’s biggest girl-bands makes her an ideal candidate. Our source went on: “It is highly likely Dannii won’t be on the panel next year and Simon is already thinking about a replacement.

“He thinks Mel could be brilliant as she’s outspoken, down-to-earth and won’t be afraid to hold back. He is certain sparks will fly.

“It will be interesting to see whether she and Cheryl Cole will gel with each other or whether it will be handbags at dawn.”
