Elton John: Cancels Rest of Tour

Sir Elton John has sparked fears for his health after cancelling the rest of his Red Piano tour because of a bad bout of influenza.

The Rocket Man was due to play a string of gigs and conclude the trek with a show in Dublin, Ireland.

But the 62 year old scrapped all shows in London, Newcastle and Liverpool, after falling ill last week.

The singer’s condition failed to improve and his representatives cancelled the final show, which was due to take place at Dublin’s O2 venue on Friday.

A statement posted on the star’s website reads, “He is bitterly disappointed not to playing Dublin. He had picked Dublin to close the Red Piano worldwide because of the great warmth of the people and the great concerts he had in the city over many years.”

Promoters have asked fans to hold onto their tickets as they try to reschedule the axed gigs for December.
